Derby Week Is Here!

Derby week is here—and the weather looks great!

We may have a couple of interesting days leading up to the derby—weatherwise.  But Saturday is looking good!  Temps over 20 degrees and light winds—a beautiful day to be on the ice.

If you haven’t gotten your ticket—DO NOT FEAR!  We are selling tickets on the ice.  That’s $60 for a ticket that entitles you to fish up to two lines!  That’s double the chance of winning one of 30 prizes totaling $30,000 in value.  Raffle tickets will be available on the ice as well.  What better way to spend your day! 

Spectators are welcome to come out and look around AND partake in the food and beverage service that will be offered by the Holiday Inn of Detroit Lakes.

There will be a snowmobile rally and swap meet going on nearby so that’s more to take in on Saturday morning.  With that we urge you to park at the Becker County Fair Grounds for the best access to parking.  Derby participants are not allowed to park on the ice.  And the walk will be short to the derby area.  With ice and snow conditions as well as the activity on the ice, we are set up a bit closer to shore this year.  Could a panfish earn a prize this year?  We’ll see…

Registration will be slightly different this year.  You will check in outside the checkpoint to pick up or purchase your tags.  No handling of tickets will be necessary this year.  But your tag needs to be visible at all times; from check-in to the fishing area to the fish registration area.

Gates open at 9 and the derby runs from 12:00 noon until 3:00.

The prize package is amazing!  Pay special attention to that 30th prize—a 2022 Ambush Stryker skid house.  This prize is going to change hands a lot throughout the day.  You’ll want to stay until the end of the derby to see who ends up winning this beautiful fish house.
