How do you like that? The forecast is looking very favorable for a great derby day! It looks like a beautiful day to bring your family, your buddies or whoever might want to just revel in the polar beauty of winter in Detroit Lakes!
Here are some last minute “things you should know”:
On-line sales will close on Thursday night; advance tickets will be available at Quality Bait and Tackle, Lakes Sport Shop, County 6 Gas and Bait, and Lakeland General Store until noon on Friday. After that, tickets will only be available on the ice--$40 for one hole ticket; $60 for two hole ticket.
Parking is available at the Becker County Fairgrounds lot. Our location is a short walking distance from the Rossman Ave Public Access. If you need special transportation arrangements ask a parking attendant or security person. No parking is allowed on the ice.
Gates open at 9; the derby begins at noon. Registration is very near the check-in gate. Raffle tickets will be available there and in the Hospitality Tent area.
You must bring your own bait. There will not be any available on the ice.
Minnesota State fishing regulations apply during this derby.
There will be food and beverage (including adult beverages) service available from the Holiday Inn tent in the derby area. In addition we feature the Uffda Grub Hut with hotdish, lefsa and other delectable treats!
Lots of opportunities to win door prizes! Got a goofy hat? Throw it on your head and come out—we will have a “best hat” competition! Just one example of how you might win a special prize.
Sponsors will be displaying products on the ice and in the Hospitality Tent—check out what they have to offer.
Prizes will be awarded at the post-party at the Holiday Inn where there is a lot of fun to be had!
